   "Spectacular Vernacular"

Our May 2008 program, Spectacular Vernacular, features music inspired by folkloric and popular singing traditions composed or arranged for presentation on the Western concert stage. Works from Argentina, Bali, Brazil, Bulgaria, England, Scotland, South Africa, Uruguay and the United States. Macedonian music played by special guests Izvornotes.

Izvornotes are Jeff Fine, kaval; Marjorie Selden and Kristina Vaskys, tambura; Sheila Krstevski, tupan.
